Happy May-- our long 600 day winter has hopefully come to an end by now.
- BE THE MOMENT. In the heart of a storm you must bring calmness, you can't escape an oncoming feeling of panic if you are lost in the midst of it. Take a deep breath and decide which thoughts control you right now. Picture a fortress and you are safely inside it. Don't let the words or actions of another person enter those gates. Your thoughts are your own doing. Relax and breath. You are what you choose to be at this moment. You are not what happened to you, you are what you believe. Let go and start again.
- HAPPINESS IS forgetting what you assumed your life should be like, or feeling envy towards someone else's. You are not them and they are not you. Appreciate everything you have. What more do you need? This is enough. You are not the objects or the promotion or the circle of friends you have, you are just you. It's enough. Relax and inhale.
- BE PRESENT no matter what you can only fight the battles of today. Forget those that have come before and those that will come after. Don't give yourself the impossible task of fighting in the past and the future as well. Be the now. Be today.
- TRUE PEACE means to remain calm in the midst of chaos and trouble. Keep yourself mentally, emotionally and spiritually centered. I like to start my day with upbeat music as I drink my morning coffee and look at the assignments for the day.
- CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES. Face those things that threaten you immediately. If it can be fixed do it now. Don't wait. Waiting breeds worry and worry creates anxiety. Inaction is the worst enemy of the positive mind. Work towards goals. Those battles you've lost or you can't fight should be shelved as you move on. Stop looking back. Stop feeling regret or guilt or jealousy-- all of those things are a cancer that will eat away your well being.
