Well the best laid plans don't always work out.
I've been getting sick around New Years for the past few years-- to varying degrees but this year, 2018 represented one heck of a magical mystery tour those first three weeks of January.
On New Years Day I went to the annual auction at Old Tyme Stuffe and I was still upright, although I felt a noticeable scratchiness in one of my ears.
By the fourth of January I was full blown flu-- you name it I had it and for 2-3 days I couldn't hold anything down-- fast forward another two weeks and I've lost a good 12 lbs and while my appetite has not fully returned at least I'm able to eat more than just Jell-O.
So it's time for a full detox and a look at the vitamins I'm taking. I take a few but I might be missing some essentials, and I think it's two fold-- I'm lacking serious Vitamin D which aids immunity and dehydration which is brought on by a lack of water during the colder months and too much coffee. I average 2-3 cups a day in the winter but I'm making some changes effective immediately.
1- First thing I do when I get up-- drink 12oz of cold water straight down before anything else. Not giving up coffee but I'm sticking to only ONE cup in the morning.
2- I'm back on a multi vitamin to fill in the gaps of vitamins I'm missing.
3- Full on Liver Detox-- I'm following a full flush method which is already making me feel better.
I also jumped on this from My Fitness Pal and it seems reasonable.
Just before I got sick I was up to four miles a day on the treadmill, I'm going to give myself another week of recovery before I jump back into exercise but I really think these changes will get the job done.
