I'm often surprised that some folks don't know things that in my mind are common sense. But then maybe they've got more important things to focus on.
Here then, are a few must knows for you;
1- Let your car warm up. There's talk that today's cars don't need to warm up-- I don't buy it. I let my car warm up even on a warm day-- maybe a minute or two if the weather is 60 or higher-- but anything less than that I let it warm for at least five minutes. My last car was a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am which I bought new-- it had 220,000 miles on it when I bought a new car.
2- Change your oil every 3000 miles. I don't let this slip a half mile over this schedule. Don't go to those quick oil change places, they are staffed by kids and you don't want kids working on your car. Go to a reputable mechanic.
3- ONLY go to the dealership for fully paid for warranty repairs. That means you never go to them for ANYTHING else. They don't know what they're doing and they charge you more than you should pay. Find a mechanic and develop a relationship with them.
4- Wash your car once a week (at least) especially in the winter. Use WAX bro!
Enough with cars-- more stuff tomorrow.
