I can't believe we're almost at Halloween.
I've always loved the build up to Halloween more than actual Halloween itself. It's the only time of year that I feel like stores are catering to my tastes and that the world that is inside my head 24/7 365 days a year is aligned with the outside world.
Mid September is the start of it-- you start to see things in stores, and yes even I object to seeing Halloween candy on display in August.
October first we put the first of our Halloween decorations out-- that will be followed by a bigger production on the weekend before Halloween and finally I'll even bring the life size Frankenstein from my basement upstairs for the actual day.
It's sad to see it go, it always is, but if everyday were Halloween then it wouldn't be as special as it is I guess.
At least that's what people tell me.
